BACK IN THE 1900's

The trip towards Mkomazana Mountain Cottages was already noteworthy, we experienced sun, mist and rain. From Joburg it is quite a ride but all very worth it. We were welcomed at 19h00 with fire wood. The next morning the sun was out and we went for a stroll to discover the setting. It is an absolute beautiful place, loved the dam with its natural pool (which we used on occasion) and the walk to salt and pepper a nice challenge.

We loved the warm scones in the morning and a nice surprise that the ladies come and clean your cottage everyday. This was definitely a trip worth making, it made us relax instantly.

SPECTACULAR VIEWS

Excellent venue and accommodation, one of the best self-catering venues we have been to. All the extra pampering (scones) was really a wonderful surprise and it made the weekend even more special. Spectacular views of the Sani pass and mountains were the best!

WE VERY MUCH ENJOYED THE STAY

It is a special place, worth the travel even if you don't go up the Sani. Friendly people managing the place who will go out of their away to assist, but without being in the way. Roaring fireplace, early morning scones, great views, accommodation is tastefully furnished; bordering on luxurious. Everything pitched just right.

ROMANTIC PLACE

It is a lovely and romantic place, great value for money. Little bit far of central Drakensbergs but great for relax. The cottage is so romantic.

Thank you very much

NATURE AT ITS MOST BEAUTIFUL

It's all true: the scones, the friendly staff, etc., etc.
On top of it you stay in THE most beautiful natural surroundings with an occasional and very modest sound bit produced by a passing car going up or coming down Sani Pass, just as a reminder you're still part of the 'civilized' world.

The bird and insect life is amazing to observe and watching dragon flies perform their lovers dance is just an amazing experience. You have to be into this kind of thing of course because if you are looking for action of another kind I would suggest you stay in the city.

If, on the other hand you'd like to forget the concrete, fumes and hooting... Mkomazama is the place to stay for more than a day.

OVERALL A GREAT STAY

A tranquil setting in close proximity to the Sani Pass and a great place to relax. There is no cell phone network at the resort.

PERFECT LOCATION AND GREAT ATMOSPHERE

My fiance and I had a wonderful stay in the Stone cottage. It was very nicely appointed. Travelground was a pleasure to deal with, from finding my accommodation to being booked in about 2 hours, that included me taking my time to decide.
